“Challenged to be in His presence”

The Powerpack camp in La Plata 2013 – had 44 children and 33 leaders (from 8 different churches and visitors from Mar de Plata and San Juan).  The theme picked up 4 challenges:

1 Challenged to acknowledge my nature (I’m a sinner but Jesus cleanses my sins).

2 Challenged to know my identity in God (I am important to God, He wanted me to be born).

3 Challenged to be in His presence (to have a relationship with God).

4 Challenged to be filled with the Holy Spirit (We can achieve all these things if we are filled with the HS).

Each part had a time of ministry in which children were very much willing to receive from God. The spiritual atmosphere during the 3 days was really good and, although it rained most of the weekend they had lots of fun and so in this they also saw the hand of God.

On the Sunday some children shared testimonies about what they had received. A girl said, “I felt God’s love…” she couldn’t say anything else because she broke down in tears and hugged her leader.

During the workshop on Identity we’ve found many children with very slow self-esteem and wounds caused by parents and friends from school.  The children discovered ‘What’s most important for God?’ inside a small box that we handed to them. As they opened them, they saw their faces reflected on a mirror we put at the bottom of each box. As they saw their own faces on the mirror, many started to cry.

During the time of ministry they prayed for all the issues children said had hurt their hearts.   Afterwards the children prayed for their leaders and it was something new for them both, children and leaders!

They were quite shy at the beginning, but a few moments later they felt freedom and it came to be a powerful time of ministry!
