Spring Harvest 2013

The Powerpack team led the 5-7s programme at Skegness from 2nd-7th April.  The them for the event was Jesus (The Source) – so we picked up a Jesus Ultimate Saviour strap-line and rolled our a superhero programme.  The underlying theme was to:

BE the Good News – we explored our identity in Him; we discovered that we are significant, valued and loved by God.  As children of God we can be royalty.   

SAY the Good News – we learnt about telling others about the goodness of God, the story of Jesus and who he was and who he is in our lives.

DO the Good News – how can we show love to others?  We explored ways of being love to others.

We had a great week – lots of testimonies of children who enjoyed it.  Soem highlights were the photo illusion competition where children could photograph images of them being superheroes, invisible, super-strong or even flying.  Another highlight was our Superhero Drama: The Amazing Adventures Of Captain Thunder and Boy Lightning!

Thank you for Spring Harvest 2013.  Thank you for running the 5-7’s at Skegness this year. My son James Harrison was 7 on the last Sunday. 

I currently suffer depression and on Saturday evening of SH we shared commmunion with our friends Rev Knight, two families of 4 around the tea table. I sat with my eyes shut and James put his hand on my shoulder and I felt the Holy Spirit warming and healing me inside. Afterwards James said, I prayed for you the prayer from Powerpack, that you receive the Holy Spirit more and more and more (he held his hands out). I told him I knew because I felt the Spirit healing me.

We bought Fuego and listened on the way home from SH. I’ve been singing the Powerpack song ever since! I’m 40 this year but when I am healed from my depressive illness I still want to be a Kingdom Maker!
