Spring Harvest 5-7s 2014

Wow! How Awesome Is Our God! was the theme for Powerpack at Spring Harvest.  Picking up the overall site themes of God the Father, Jesus the Saviour and the power of Holy Spirit – the 5-7s explored their relationship with Him.  The first day gave the children opportunities to choose to be God’s friend (about 80 chose this) and to see miracles in their life (about 60 chose this too).  It was a chance for them to hear Father God speak into their lives and show them how much he loved them.  

The second day focused on Jesus, we looked at the Easter story and how we can have the victory because Jesus is ‘the Undefeated Champion.’  This allowed children time to respond and they prayed for each other.  The third day was focused on Pentecost and the Holy Spirit.  The children saw an illustration as a jug continued to pour water despite being emptied and they had opportunitie sto receive the Holy Spirit in their life.  They played with play dough and asked the Holy Spirit to mould them to be all they are meant to be in Him. Romans 12 v 2.

The week was packed with great songs and stories, pies in the face, Benny’s stories and ‘I’m a Powerpacker get me out of here.”  But the highlight for all was experiencing who Father God is and how much he loves them.  Wow! He was awesome!
